The Center for Social Advocacy presented the
20th-anniversary All People’s Breakfast at Golden Hall, held in commemoration
of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The event, attended by civic and
community leaders and the public, included a keynote address by
singer/equal rights advocate Odetta (dubbed “the queen of American
folk music” in the 1960s). The theme of her speech was “The Harmonies
of Liberty——Music That Inspired the Movement.” She also headlined a
concert featuring various San Diego musicians, dancers and poets.
