Artwork Submission Instructions and Specifications

Create and submit advertisement in one of the following applications or combinations of:

  • QuarkXPress 6.1 (all fonts & high resolution art/image support must be included)
  • Illustrator CS as an eps file (all fonts must be outlined and support files included)
  • Photo Shop CS as a Tiff (built to size plus .25 inch bleed on all sides, if applicable)
  • PDF File with fonts and art embedded

Please submite your files via:

  • CD/DVD (MAC readable)
  • Email: files smaller than 5MB
  • FTP site: files 5MB and larger

The advertisement should be created at 300 dpi resolution.

Advertisement must be built at 100 percent of the mechanical specifications.

If applicable, add a .25 inch bleed on all sides.

Advertisements should be designed in the MacIntosh environment.

All fonts, art and images used in the design of the advertisement must be included. Outline fonts when at all possible.

Color format must be CMYK.

Live area of the advertisement is .25 inch within the trim size. Keep all text within this area to avoid having text trimmed off.

Every effort is made to match color but printer acknowledges a possible variance. Allow for a 5 to 7 percent gain on the press.

Advertisers (CMYK and Gray Scale) must submit a proof that represents the design of the advertisement.

Do not send: Word, Powerpoint, PageMaker, InDesign, Microsoft Publisher or Freehand files

E-mail Instructions

Ads may be e-mailed to us if they are smaller than 5 MB. Recommend that the files are "stuffed" or "zipped" before sending. Ads can be e-mailed to us at this link.

Ads will not be accepted unless the publication name AND your company name appear in the subject line.

FTP Instructions

Our FTP server (uploads only) can be accessed through any web browser (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Netscape, Safari, etc.) by going to http://art.curtco.com, and typing in the username and password below. All files should be stuffed or zipped.

username: sdart
password: cablesurf (all lower-case characters)

Important: Name your files after your company. For example: “Company XYZ Photo” or “Company XYZ logo” of “Company XYZ ad”

Note: You will only be able to upload your files to this site. You cannot change your file name or delete your file after it has been uploaded. Failure to submit your artwork correctly may cause delays in the project and additional costs for design intervention.
