Call Out

Matt and Jennifer Mauzy’s 3,500-square-foot, ranch-style Alpine home came within inches of being torched by the Cedar Fire in 2003. The couple decided to celebrate their good fortune by adding an 800-square-foot family room with a home theater to truly enjoy what they had almost lost. The Mauzys’ busy schedules—all four kids play team sports—may keep them from attending Padres and Chargers games, but with the deluxe home-theater system, installed by Pro Tech Connect of El Cajon, the family hosts its own fan parties. The home theater is loaded with the latest audio and visual components. The recreation area includes space for playing foosball, poker and bumper pool. The adults can also enjoy its well-stocked saloon.
