Debut Appearance

Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first black sorority (which this year celebrates 100 years of community service), hosted its debutante ball at the Town & Country Resort. Event chairs were Jaine Derrough and Pfeifer Lacy. Local chapter members include judges Randa Trapp and Ernestine Littlejohn. Celebrity members include Alicia Keys, Rosa Parks, Coretta Scott King and Gladys Knight.
